Gatekeeper Contract and Vendor Management Glossary

Search common contracting language and take a deeper dive to discover what each means

Avoidance of Doubt

A statement in a Contract intended to rephrase or make more explicit something expressed in an earlier statement that might be open to interpretation

This is especially important if there is a contradiction between a clause and another provision in the contract.

Avoidance of Doubt can also be presented as 'for the sake of clarity.'

The ability to rephrase or make a term more explicit can prevent ambiguity and resulting disputes further down the line.
