Showstopper

A Showstopper is an  obstacle to further progress.

It's commonly encountered during an RFx process when a candidate supplier is unable to comply with a mandatory requirement.

It can also occur during contract negotiations when one party cannot accept a contract clause that the other party will not do business without.
